Please... It's Cold Out Here...

Via Flickr:
FINALLY an image I'm happy with. I've been a bit disappointed with my photography lately so I'm glad to finally have something I can give a thumbs up to.

This photo is for a 52-week project I'm doing. The theme was Cold. It was "interesting" to make - I took well over 100 photos in the end. It was very hard to get the composition right, given I didn't have a helper. I ended up drawing a little dot on the window so I knew where to put my hand.

The "ice" is from my freezer (lol I need to defrost that sucker sometime). The white background is exactly how it looked in camera. In fact the whole photo is pretty much straight from camera. My balcony is rather dark so it blew out the background which saved me having to do it in photoshop.

And now my beanie is all wet :(

Byzantine Side of Toronto Planet. May Summer Be With You

Via Flickr:
Continuing the planetary theme with Byzantine Side of Toronto Planet & Toy-ronto Life series :-)

It's time for my planetary magic!

Here is the May entry for my series of seasonal globular digi-magic upon our Toronto as seen from the Riverdale Park toward Broadview Avenue, filled with the cute buildings of lovely Greektown, the Byzantine-like church including :-)

It is so summery in our May here... and it's just a pure pleasure to take care of my Byzantine planet :-)

Calèche driver and his buddy

Via Flickr:
While visiting Old Montreal this past weekend, we took a 1/2 hour tour on a calèche in which the driver takes you around the beautiful streets while telling a story about how Montreal came to be. He described many of the buildings and their architecture, how people used to make a living, right down to a stone circle in the middle of the streets that used to be the main well and water supply. It was incredible how he was able to create a vision for us. Our guide and his pal Rolph were awesome.

To Be Continued

Today there was a MIFA(Meguro International Friendship Association) festival near my place. People from all over the world gather & enjoy various cultural events. There were ethnic clothes try-ons, performance of a drumming circle, dances etc..
